Manasara movie review

Maverick film maker Ravi Babu has always made movies with a difference. The subjects, genres and story lines he choses to film stand out from the rest of the crowd and 'Manasara' too is no exception. The trailers of the movie which generated curiosity among movie goers is in comensurate with the narration and the performances. This simple love and action thriller clubbed with fresh locations and new faces makes for an interesting watch.

Story:-

'Manasara' is a simple love story between Vikram(Vikram) and Anjali(Sri Divya) in Rajapalayam in Kerala. Vikram a timid hearted soft guy,is the son of a bank employee(Krishnamohan) who gets posted in Kerala and that is how Vikram gets to meet Anjali. But Rajapalayam is an orthodox society with people living by their ancient traditions and customs. Life in this place is governed by martial art Kalari Payattu.

The trouble in the smooth love story of Vikram and Anjali comes in the form of her brother-in-law Rajan Pillai(George) who is adept at the art of 'Kalari'.The rest of the story is on whether Vikram wins Anjali keeping his timidity aside.

Performances:-

George and Bhanuchandar delivered applaudable performances. Vikram, the hero of the movie has done a decent job considering he has not done many films before. Sri Divya was tailor made for her charecter. George has a promising career for negative shade roles , thanks to his body language and apt expressions that concur with it.M S Narayana though a brief role did a favour to himself by taking up this role, something different from his cliched drunkard ones in zillion movies.

Remarks:-

Ravibabu made a noteworthy attempt and thorough research of Kerala and its traditions. The locations, casting and narration were all in place. The background score goes well with the orthodox social set up of Kerala. The plot is predictable and the only thing that makes the movie stand out is the narration and screenplay.It is a visual treat for all those who love greenery and Kerala's exotic locales.

Verdict:-

'Manasara' is a bearable movie and a appreciative attempt. Watch it for a differnt narration and a Kerala experience.

Vishnuvardan to direct Pawan kalyan

Vishnuvardhan, who had earlier made Tamil films like Billa (with Ajith) and Sarvam (with Arya), is soon going to direct Pawan Kalyan Neelima Nagesh and Shobu Yarlagadda are going to jointly produce this untitled film. Neelima Nagesh is going to produce the film on Sanghamitra Art Productions banner where as Shobu’s Arka Media presents this movie. Shobu Yarlagadda and his banner Arka Media had recently produced Vedam and Maryada Ramanna in Telugu.
This will be the first time that Pawan Kalyan is going to work together with Vishnuvardhan. Earlier, he had acted under the direction of Tamil filmmakers like S J Suryah and Dharani. Pawan Kalyan’s recent film Puli was directed by S J Suryah. He’s currently acting in Jayanth C Paranjee’s film which is a remake of Saif Ali Khan’s Love Aaj Kal.
Yuvan Shankar Raja is going to compose music for this film and it will be his first collaboration with Pawan Kalyan. P S Vinod is the cinematographer. Two heroines are expected to be cast in lead roles in this action entertainer which is expected to go on floors in February, 2011. Interestingly, Krish who had directed critically acclaimed films like Gamyam and Vedam is going to pen the dialogues for Vishnuvardhan - Pawan Kalyan’s film. Recently, it was announced that Trivikram Srinivas is going to write the dialogues for Pawan Kalyan, Trisha starrer under the direction of Jayanth C Paranjee.

Raviteja and Nagarjuna clash at Box office on dec 23

Nagarjuna and Ravi Teja are going for a head on at box office later this month. Two of their films are releasing on the same day and the result is set to leave the audience spoilt for choice.
Ragada, starring Nagarjuna, Anushka and Priyamani is a full-fledged action entertainer. Directed by Veeru Potla, the film presents Nagarjuna in a new avatar and D Sivaprasad Reddy is producing the film on Kamakshi Kala Movies banner. Nagarjuna hails from Kadapa district in the film and for the first time in his career he’s going to speak in Rayalaseema dialect. The audio launch of this film was held on November 29 and S Thaman had composed the music. The film was earlier supposed to release on December 17. However, it has been postponed to December 23rd.
Another film which is going to release on December 23rd is Ravi Teja, Richa Gangopadhyay, Deeksha Seth starrer Mirapakai. Harish Shankar has directed the film. He had earlier worked with Ravi Teja in Shock. The film is touted to be a complete entertainer. Ravi Teja was recently seen in Gopichand Mallineni’s Don Seenu. The audio launch of Mirapakai is going to take place on December 5th.

Among other big releases this month, Rakta Charitra-2, Nagavalli are the prominent ones. Apart from these films, there are quite a lot of other releases like Alasyam Amrutham, Kathi Kantha Rao, Raaj.

Rana As Professional Killer in “Nenu Naa Rakshashi”

Director, Puri Jagannath who is currently directing the film, ‘Nenu Naa Rakshasi’ with Rana in the lead role after a series of flops in his account. Sources say that Puri has crafted the role of Rana in a new dimension where he will be playing the role of a professional killer with rough looks.

Ileana is playing Rana’s lady love in the film. The film also casts Mumaith Khan in a key role. Dialogues and the script are the highlights of the film. More interestingly this film has four music directors Vishal-Sekhar, Pappi Lahiri and Vishwa, which is the first time in the history of Telugu cinema.

Allu Arjun getting engaged

Allu Arjun aka Bunny is getting engaged to a Hyderabadi girl named Sneha Reddy today (November 26). It is said that the engagement ceremony would be held at the bride's house.

According to reports, the function will be attended by close relatives and friends of the couple. Allu has said that the ceremony would be a low-key affair as they did not find a suitable venue and engagement date was fixed in a hurry. Sources say that Allu Arjun and Sneha Reddy's wedding will be held in February 2011.

Sneha Reddy is the daughter of educationist and businessman Sankar Reddy. She has completed MS in Computer Science from a reputed US university.
